PCOS Update: From Adolescence Across the Lifespan

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine disorders affecting females and has significant reproductive, metabolic, and psychosocial implications that extend far beyond adolescence. This evidence-based presentation explores the evolving clinical manifestations of PCOS across the lifespan, from early recognition in adolescents to long-term management in adulthood. Participants will review the epidemiology and pathophysiology of PCOS, current diagnostic criteria, and common differential diagnoses while examining associated comorbidities, including infertility, insulin resistance, obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular risk, and mental health disorders.

- Identify the new-pharmacologic and pharmacologic agents available for the treatment of osteoarthritis and RA.
-Compare and contrast newer pharmacologic agents with older agents with regard to benefits, risks, side effects, and drug interactions.

Dr Secor has been an FNP for 49 years specializing in Women’s Health, and more recently Health and Fitness. She is a National Speaker, Educator, Health/Fitness Advocate and a Recent Cancer Survivor. Dr Secor graduated with her DNP in 2015 from Rocky Mountain University, in Provo, Utah.
She has received numerous awards including the 2025 AANP Sharp Cutting Edge Leadership Award for her contributions to the NP Profession and in 2013 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Coalition of NPs, an organization she cofounded.
She is the Coauthor of 2 GYN textbooks, including the 2023 (5th edition) of Advanced Health Assessment of Women: Skills, Procedures and Management AND the 2018 (2nd edition) of The GYN Exam. She has also authored two health/fitness books most recently the 2022 best-seller, Healthy and Fit at Any Age.
She has been in cancer remission (from rare fallopian tube cancer) for nearly 3 years and has participated in the “Pan Mass Challenge Bike-a-thon for Boston-based, Dana Farber Cancer Institute (where she was treated), raising over $14,000 dollars for cancer research.
Dr Secor believes being a healthy role model is powerful medicine.
