National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) and Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education (NPACE) has partnered to offer a 28-credit continuing education program specific to the learning needs of new nurse practitioner (NP) educators.
The purpose of this program is to bring a condensed and accessible information to new NP Faculty to be effective educators. These modules are designed to cover some of the more complex and unique aspects of serving as NP Faculty, particularly for novice or adjunct faculty.

This module will review the foundational and theoretical frameworks relevant to creating effective learning experiences in the classroom and clinical areas for nurse practitioner students. The learner will gain an understanding of integrating the principles of adult learning and national standards of nurse practitioner education into programs across multiple learning settings. This (course/module) will help the learner explore the inter-relationships between the development of program, curriculum, and individual courses and the use of design standards in articulating these relationships in nurse practitioner education. This (course/module) will help the learner develop and strengthen the knowledge and skills for assessing nurse practitioner students’ learning by providing effective assessment and feedback in both formative and summative evaluations. Advice and strategies for developing well written test questions and exams to effectively assess knowledge and skills will be delivered. The learner will gain an appreciation of the role of simulation and case studies for assessing knowledge, skills, and behaviors including diagnostic reasoning and communication skills. This (course/module) will inform the learner on the tools used to design, manage, execute and evaluation clinical experiences. It will explore the design and use competency-based outcomes. Additionally, learners will hear strategies to overcome clinical challenges at all levels and learn innovated ways to provide quality clinical experiences.
